ABOUT THE BOOK
MY WALK WITH GOD
My Walk With God is an open and transparent, chapter-by-chapter memoir presenting intimate family moments and the events of life-defining events. Ray begins with pleasant childhood memories in the form of berry picking, school, and farm labor, and then moves on to the dark periods: lightning strike, life-threatening polio, long rehabilitation, and the belief that kept him going.
A broader perspective is given later in the chapters: service in the Royal Canadian Air Force, life abroad, a successful career in industry, the construction of family and home with Solveig. The voice of Ray is a mixture of realistic description (tools, machines, mine-floor problem solving), and spiritual revelation - the way that daily hardships taught him to trust, to be a leader, and to have a God-given mission. The book belongs to the memoir, part testimony: a practical, optimistic one that the reader of the book desires to see as a way of life anchored in faith.
